Some of the theatres in Toronto were once warehouses or had their beginnings in vaudeville days. It seems that many spirits are still lurking around waiting for the next performance or trying to lend a helping hand.

Harbourfront Centre Theatre Toronto

This complex was once a group of ship terminal buildings servicing Toronto’s harbour. The DuMaurier Theatre building was once an ice house and then used a warehouse until converted to a theatre in 1986. Within the Harbourfront complex, there is also the York Quay Centre the Premier Dance theatre.

The most famous ghost is that of a woman who was found sitting in the middle of the theater in the early morning hours. A night security guard approached the lady and asked her what she was doing in the theater. She asked him “what time does the show start?” Then she disappeared.
