It started with a simple online search a couple of months ago. I was hoping to obtain a small business loan to start up my tax and accounting practice. I didn't need a lot of money, just a couple of thousand dollars to buy the needed software and office equipment, and to do a little advertising. At first it seemed promising. There seemed to be no end of potential lenders willing to help me out.
What Part of Small Business Loan Don't You Understand?
After entering some preliminary information I was immediately given several offers. The offers, however, were all for payday loans. Since I still had a part-time job, many lenders were happy to give me a few hundred dollars for a week or two. Yippee! Well, that's alright, I thought, there are plenty of other lenders to check out.
After following this road a half dozen times, I realized that I was not going to find anything but payday loans. Discouraged, I returned to the drawing board.
